Haliburton County Rail Trail| Length: | 34 km - There are many access points which allow for shorter routes. | | Rating: | moderate to challenging | | Duration: | Route Dependant | | Description: | The County of Haliburton and the Haliburton Highlands Trails & Tours Network invite joggers, walkers, hikers, horseback riders, ATVers and snowmobilers to come on out and experience what the Haliburton County Rail Trail has to offer.
ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) users who hold a permit with the Haliburton or Kawartha ATV Associations are invited to use the Rail Trail from June 1st to November 30th of every year between the hours of 10:00 am and dusk. The trail is ranked as a beginner trail and users are required to obey the speed limit of 30 km/hr.
Cautions: There is limited signage along the trail and please watch for other users.
Directions: Parking and trailhead kiosks are located at each end of the trail. In Haliburton, access via County Rd. 1 (where the Rail Trail crosses the main road - just metres from the lights at the intersection of Hwy 21 and County Rd. 1). In Kinmount, access via Austin Park.
This trail is a featured ‘Adopt-a-Metre’ trail. You can help construction and maintenance efforts by adopting a metre of the Haliburton county Rail Trail today! 80 cents of every $1 is spent on the ground.
