Log Chute Route| Length: | 9.0 | | Rating: | easy | | Description: | This is a good beginner route – it is flat and short. Start at the Elvin Johnson Park and follow Old Mill Road to Hawk Lake Rd and follow the signs for the Hawk Lake Log Chute. There are a few places to stop and enjoy the river on route. Turn back at the Marina and retrace the route back to the park.
Directions: Take Little Hawk Lake Rd (County Rd 13) to Old Mill Rd and follow to its end – the park is located on the left. There are picnic tables, washrooms, parking and a public beach at the park.
Attractions: historic Hawk Lake Log Chute, and scenic Kennisis River
