Macy, is a graduate of the McGill School of Environment, a poet, practitioner of mindfulness meditation, and founder of The Earth Dialogues in Montreal. dancingpine@gmail.com

Cost for whole event with gaia-glorious lunch $85
Offered by Margot Van Sluytman,
Member of NAPT, SAH, Award Winning Expressive Writing Facilitator.
In this workshop, you will read specific pieces of poetry and prose, with the focus on unearthing your own unique, unfolding voice. To breathing the beauty, vision, and hope of both the literal and the figurative energy that seeps and spills from and in the ponds, streams, sanctuaries of your relationship to the landscapes of this earth. landscapes that feed us. That need us.
You will dance with your unique content, weaving your language, birthing your poetry, prose poetry, and your new relationships to budding questions.
This course takes as its starting point the voice of Cantadora/Storyteller and Jungian Analyst, Clarissa Pinkola Estes', PhD's words:
The creative force flows over the terrain of our psyches looking for the natural hollows, the arroyos, the channels that exist in us. We becomes its tributaries, its basins; we are its pools, ponds, streams, and sanctuaries. The wild creative force flows into whatever beds we have for it; those we are born with as well as those we dig with our own hands.

Crank the ShieldDates: September 19, 2008 to September 21, 2008 Location: Haliburton Highlands and Muskoka
The demand for multi-day, point to point events is at an all-time high. The largest such events, including the Trans-Alps and Trans-Rockies are so popular, many participants are put on a waiting list. These events tend to start and finish in remote locations, away from heavy populations and often require several weeks between getting there and back, and the riding itself. Riders must then take significant time off work, fly to and from the event, and spend considerable money in the process.
Feeding off the demand for a more affordable event with good proximity to the GTA, Chico Racing is offering a 3-day event through Ontario's near north.
Crank the Shield offers a unique experience to riders of Ontario, while also offering a less time consuming alternative, or companion event, to the longer stage races available. Riders from the area need only take a couple days off work, and travel time is minimal. The shorter format also means support crews are less needed, so riders can do the event while having less effect on their friends, family, and their busy schedules.

6th Annual Hike HaliburtonDates: October 17, 2008 to October 19, 2008 Location: Haliburton Highlands This year’s Hike Haliburton Festival is still in the works however the following will give you a good understanding of what our festival is all about.
5 Years & Still Going Strong
The Haliburton Highlands Trails and Tours Network would like to give you a taste of what to expect at this year's festival.
The festival begins at 9 a.m. on Friday morning with various hikes throughout the County, however the official launch of the festival happens that night at our Blast Off BBQ. Over the years the Blast Off BBQ has provided hikers with a great opportunity to gather and socialize with people that have the same interests. Hikers have had the choice of a hotdog, or hamburger, as well as refreshments and yummy deserts. Over the year’s we have had great entertainment. In 2007 David Archibald, a famous folk artist was our featured entertainer, courtesy of a local sponsorship from Yours Outdoors. The evening concludes with our ever so popular night hike, which varies in theme from year to year (i.e. animals at night, astronomy, etc.).
Saturday participants enjoy hiking along some of our most picturesque trails and are entertained by our knowledgeable hike leaders. In 2007 we introduced a free signature event in hopes to reach out to a new market. The introduction of the Family Scavenger Hike was a great success! Even Franklin the Turtle made an appearance compliment’s of Kids Can Press. Saturday concludes with what we like to call our Blister Ball and Silent Auction. Hikers come out to the Blister Ball and dance the night away to a live band, while bidding on the many treasures donated by local businesses. In 2007 Ed the Sock and Liana K., of City TV’s, Ed and Red’s Night Party came out and were our Master of ceremonies for the evening. Throughout the day Ed and Liana also filmed a segment for their show while they attended the Llama Walk.
The Festival concludes on Sunday with hikes running all throughout the day, with the last one ending at 4:30 p.m.
Keep checking our website www.trailsandtours.com for festival updates.
