The Haliburton Highlands Hidden Gems Audio Tour is a “Choose Your Own Adventure!” Along the way you will drive to four very unique locations each with its own history and exciting activities. These activities all take place outdoors and can include Geocaching (Treasure Hunting), swimming, white-water and/or flat-water kayaking and/or canoeing, fishing, hiking, picnicking and even conquering the “Blairhampton Triangle”. It is recommended that Adventurers bring along a camera, as you will be visiting some of the most picturesque locations within the County of Haliburton.
The tour can be done in one day or over multiple visits, although we hope that once you’ve visited these unique locations that you will return over and over again.

The Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve Ltd. operates one of the largest multi-use recreation and resrouce management facilities in North America. A network of 270 km of excellent trails offer everything from wide, level, low traffic gravel roads to hard-packed rolling pathways to rocky, muddy, really extreme pseudo-trails for the truly adventurous. Five shelter cabins en route provid a place to rest or enjoy the great scenery.

Many trails have private land use agreements including the Haliburton Rail Trail (Kinmount area to Haliburton Village) HATVA membership passes are a REQUIREMENT. Be forwarned TRAILS ARE WARDENED. Haliburton Rail Trail is wardened under County Bylaw as shown in this hot link.
On all trails you must have a helmet, plate and insurance and comply with the OFF ROAD ACT. On road links you must comply with Bill II requirements and that includes licensed drivers only.

HHCC - Bike Haliburton County Map Product Code: HHCC Map
The Haliburton Highlands Cycling Coalition map includes most of the cycling routes commonly used in Haliburton County. The most popular routes are lettered clearly on the map and are described on the chart. They have also highlighted other roads that are enjoyable routes less frequently used. Although not all roadways and hills are shown, they have tried to provide distances and hill chevrons on most of the major roads to allow you to create your own favourite route. The pre-existing routes are clearly marked as to their difficulty level.
